Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine - Natural, Holistic & integrative.
BridgePoint Health is proud to offer a natural and holistic system that promotes the body's own natural healing process that originated in China over 2,500 years ago. Today, patients and health care providers alike are embracing Oriental Medicine as an effective complement, or alternative, to conventional medical care.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into carefully selected points found just below the surface of the skin. These Acupuncture points are located on pathways called “meridians”.
Traditional theory states that each meridian corresponds to specific activities within the body such as: digestive, cardiovascular, emotional, hormonal, reproductive, etc. These meridians form a communication network that connects and directs all activities within the body.
When an acupuncturist stimulates a carefully selected set of Acupuncture points, a message is sent through the meridians to their related body systems. Acupuncture corrects patterns of disharmony in the body and helps return a person to optimal health.
Despite it’s evident positive effects, no one fully understands how Acupuncture works according to modern science. There are many theories, but we do not yet understand the physiology behind it’s health promoting effects.
What Can Acupuncture Treat?
People are usually surprised by the number of health concerns Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine can address and often regret not knowing about it sooner.
The World Health Organization, along with other nationally respected medical bodies, recognize the benefits of Acupuncture treatment for a variety of physical, mental, and emotional problems.

Healing the Roots of an Illness.
Symptoms and diseases are not isolated occurrences. They are seen as signs pointing to an underlying imbalance within and individual’s mind, body, lifestyle, and environment.
One of Oriental Medicine’s strengths is in it’s ability to discover and address the possible “root” causes of an illness while simultaneously addressing the “branch” symptoms. This results in better overall health and a reduction in the likelihood of the illness reoccurring in the future.
Does Acupuncture hurt?
You may feel a very slight prick when a point is first needled, but there is usually no pain. Many people are so relaxed that they actually fall asleep during treatment.
Safety.
Acupuncture is one of the safest treatment options available today because there are very few side effects. There are no substances on the needles, and nothing is injected into the body. Acupuncture works by stimulating the body at specific points intended to facilitate it’s own healing process.
The key to good results.
Acupuncture is a process. It is very rare that any problem will be resolved with one treatment. Virtually every patient requires a course of treatments, rather than a single treatment, in order to get the results acupuncture is capable of providing.
On your first visit, your acupuncturist will suggest a course of treatment, which can be anything from “we’d like to see you once a week for six weeks” to “we’d really like to see you two days a week, for the next month.” This suggestion is based on our experience with treating different kinds of conditions.
If you don’t come in often enough or long enough, acupuncture probably won’t work for you. The purpose of our pricing is to help you commit to the process of treatment in order to get good results.
Taking care of yourself.
Acupuncture is a wonderful complement to conventional medicine, but it is not a substitute for it. You should also talk to your primary care physician about your health concerns.
True wellness comes from taking responsibility for yourself and living well. The healthier your life-style (nutrition, movement & exercise, relationships, personal growth & spirituality, environment, regular checkups, etc.), the more well being will be cultivated. You are the one who has the most control over your health.
Your support is appreciated!
One reason we are able to keep our prices so low is because of the extraordinary amount of marketing our patients do on our behalf – we do very little advertising otherwise. We are very grateful for this.
Honestly, if it were not for happy and vocal patients, this community acupuncture program would cease to be available. Our patients are such effective marketers because they have first-hand experience of how well acupuncture works. All of our satisfied patients have made a commitment to a course of treatment.
Thank you,

Offering new model of delivering quality acupuncture care.
We see the need for a business model that conforms to the way acupuncture works best for patients, rather than to a limited business model that focuses on profits over treatment results.
Some conditions require frequent and long term treatment. Current acupuncture pricing is simply too high for most people to follow through with a full course of treatment. This does not help patients get better and it can give people the wrong idea about the effectiveness of acupuncture.
